Your AI image missed the picture in your head? Add these four details.
Don’t name only the subject. Describe the scene, composition and mood you want the tool to imagine.
Ask for “a beautiful cat picture” and the image tool has to guess the setting and style. In a 2026 report on U.S. AI Mode, Google said image-creation queries had more than tripled since the start of that year. That is platform-specific U.S. search data, not a count of global searches or usage across every image generator. It does point to a growing interest in making images through conversational search.
For a more useful first draft, give the tool four anchors: what is in the image, what it is doing, where and when the scene takes place, and how the image should be framed or feel. Then change one detail at a time instead of rewriting the whole request.
Create an image of [subject] [doing what] in [place and time]. Frame it as [close-up / wide shot / overhead]. Use [color, light, mood, or visual style]. Include [important details]. Leave out [things to avoid].
This is a starting point, not a guarantee. Tools differ in what they can generate and may struggle with legible text or precise layouts. Check the service’s rules before asking it to depict real people, brands or copyrighted characters.
Start with four anchors: subject, action, setting, and framing or style.
Search-interest growth is not the same as total query volume.
