The game was tied at 24 when Washington took a 27–24 lead on Drew Stevens’ 36-yard field goal. Kain Medrano then returned a Sam Darnold interception 50 yards for a touchdown. Washington missed the extra point, making it 33–24; Cooper Kupp’s late touchdown and the kick cut the gap to two.
Washington held on after Marcus Mariota converted a late third down with a run. Darnold threw for 379 yards and four touchdowns, but also had two interceptions. Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught 10 passes for 128 yards and two scores.
