FIELD NOTES SUBSCRIPTION CHECK

Deleted the app. Still being charged?

How to cancel a subscription when it's missing from your list: trace the charge to the account or company that bills you.

Know the service? 7 official cancellation links

Know the service, but not where you subscribed?

Start with the service’s own help page. If the plan is missing, check who billed you above.

  • Apple subscriptions

On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. If the plan is missing, check which Apple Account paid or who billed you.

    Apple Support: cancel a subscription
  • Adobe

In your Adobe account, open Plans and payment, choose Manage plan, then Cancel your plan. Review the final terms before confirming; partner-billed plans must be cancelled with that partner.

  • Dropbox

For a directly billed individual plan, open Manage account, then Cancel plan. Store-billed plans must be cancelled there. Your account downgrades to Basic at the billing-cycle end; if files exceed its 2 GB limit, syncing can stop and Dropbox may delete files. Back up or move files first.

  • ChatGPT

Cancel through the place you subscribed: ChatGPT, Apple, or Google Play. Deleting the app does not stop renewal.

    OpenAI’s cancellation steps
  • Netflix

In your account, choose Manage Membership, then Cancel and Finish Cancellation. If the option is missing, follow the payment-partner route shown there.

Search stays on this page; no account details are requested or sent.

The app and its payment can live in different places. Check the receipt or billing statement for the company that charges you; uninstalling the app again will not stop renewal.

iPhone or iPad: check your Apple Account

Open Apple subscriptions ↗

Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. If the plan is missing, search your email for an Apple receipt or invoice and check which Apple Account paid. If a family member's account is on the receipt, that person needs to cancel. If there is no Apple receipt, check the statement for the company or carrier that bills you.

Android: check Google Play

Open Google Play subscriptions ↗

In Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions and Subscriptions. Make sure you are signed in to the Google Account used for the purchase. If the plan still isn't there, it may use an alternative billing system; check the statement and contact the app developer through its official support page. Uninstalling the app does not stop the subscription.

Paid through PayPal?

Open PayPal automatic payments ↗

Sign in to the PayPal account used at checkout. On the website, open Settings, then Payments, then Subscriptions and saved businesses (the label can vary by region), and select the merchant to cancel the automatic payment. If you also want to close the service or contract, cancel with the merchant as well; stopping PayPal payments may not end a separate agreement. Save both confirmations.

FOX One: cancel through the company that bills you

For the U.S. FOX One service, first check the receipt or card statement. If FOX bills you directly, sign in to your FOX account and follow the cancellation instructions there. If you subscribed through a third-party provider, such as an app store or your internet, mobile or TV provider, cancel through that provider's account. FOX says direct cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; it does not refund a partially used period. Save the confirmation and end date.

Neither list shows it?

APPLE.COM/BILL can cover Apple purchases and subscriptions; GOOGLE* can cover different Google products. Match the charge to your purchase history before trying to cancel a subscription.

Search your email for the service name, “receipt” or “invoice,” then match it to the merchant on your statement. Open the service through its known app or website and check Billing or Account settings. For a carrier-billed plan, contact the carrier. If a charge is unexpected, check it through your bank or card issuer's official app or number.

After cancelling, save the confirmation

Keep the confirmation email or screen and note the renewal or end date. Access may continue through time already paid, so that alone does not mean cancellation failed. A refund for an earlier charge is a separate request.

Billing routes and refund rules vary by provider and country. This guide does not access or change your account.
